Westkirk Student Ministries (WSM) exists TO KNOW CHRIST AND MAKE HIM KNOWN among middle and high school students at Westkirk and in the Des Moines metro area. We seek to fulfill our mission by enfolding non-believing students and encouraging believing students in their Christian relationships, equipping them in their faith, and unleashing them into the world in order to exalt God with their lives.
WSM, led by Pr. Styles Stadtlander, believes that the Lord uses the Holy Spirit to convict and transform the lives of students. He has chosen to use the local church in this process. Therefore, we believe it is important for students to “share life” not only with parents and WSM leaders, but with the church itself. We encourage this through expecting students to worship regularly, in providing opportunities for inter-generational involvement, and allowing students to testify to God’s work in their lives. In this manner, students not only benefit from being members of Westkirk Presbyterian Church but are also a benefit to the rest of the congregation.
