Prayer

“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Hebrews 4:16

At Westkirk we desire to take prayer seriously. It is one of the means of grace that God has given to us in order that we might experience the benefits of Christ’s ministry (WLC 154). Because of this, we want to make good use of this means by engaging in prayer regularly, both privately and corporately.

While private prayer is important and valuable, we also want to provide opportunities for God’s people to gather together to pray. It is a tremendous blessing and expression of the communion of the saints that we can come together to lift our prayers to God.
We gather corporately for prayer on Thursday mornings at 7 AM in the Lounge at church. We also have a Zoom prayer call on Thursdays at noon (if you would like the meeting link, please fill out the form below). Finally, we meet on Sunday mornings at 8:30 AM for prayer prior to our Sunday School hour. We would love to have you join us.

In addition, if you have any prayer requests, we would love to be the church that prays with you and for you. We know that some requests are more private than others and we do our best to respect your desires with how widely to share these requests. We pray for private requests together as a staff each week. We also include more public requests in a weekly prayer email that goes out to a smaller list of people (subscribe via the link below). Lastly, we include requests in our bulletin when they can be shared publicly.
