Our Mission

The mission of the Christian Education Commission at Westkirk is to help God’s children of all ages to know Christ and to make Him known through the teaching of God’s Word, discipleship, fellowship, and service.

Children's Ministry

Sunday School (Age 3 - 9th grade)

9:00-10:00 a.m.

Children meet in small group settings and learn to weave faith in Jesus Christ into all areas of their lives using Faith Alive's Walk with Me curriculum.

 

Kid's Own Worship (Grades 1 - 5)

10:45-11:45 a.m.

Children are dismissed from the worship service to attend Kid's Own Worship where they are led in song, prayer, and activities to deepen their relationship with God.

 

Kids of the Kingdom (Age 3 - Kindergarten)

10:45-11:45 a.m.

Children are dismissed from the worship service to attend Children's Church where they are led in song, prayer, and activities to deepen their relationship with God.
 

W.O.W. (Westkirk On Wednesday) (Ages 3 - 6th grade)

5:45-7:30 p.m.

Dinner is served between 5:45-6:30 p.m. Then classes meet from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening classes for the children include Bible stories, memory verses, as well as various games and crafts to reinforce the stories and lessons.

 

CLUB 56 (5th & 6th grade)

This group meets throughout the year for special events such as an overnight retreat, Ministry & Mission Week, and more.  The purpose of the group is to Care for and serve others, Lift up praise to Jesus, Understand God's will and grow in God's love, and Bring good news to others.

 

Nursery (Ages infant - 3)

The nursery is staffed Sunday morning as well as on Wednesday evening and during other church functions to provide a nurturing environment for young children.

Special Events

Throughout the year special events are held for children/families such as Vacation Bible School, which is held in the summer; Christmas caroling at nursing homes; and Parents' Night Out, which is a time where parents can leave their children at church for a few hours and spend some time together.

 

Youth Ministries

Sunday School (Grades 6-8)

Sundays, 9:00-10:00 a.m.
 

BLAST (grades 7-9)

Wednesdays 6:30-7:30 p.m.

This group stands for Believing, Laughing, and Studying the Truth. It is designed to meet the unique needs of preteens and middle school students while encouraging them in their faith.

New Life (Grades 9-12)

Club, Sundays 6:30-8:00 pm.

New Life is a unique mixture of games, music, humor, small group discussion and a message about Jesus Christ presented by a leader in a way kids can relate to. We meet every Sunday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. at the Crown Point Community Center (address). Please invite a friend and join us at our next Club.

Special Events

Throughout the year a number of special youth ministry events are held for youth and their parents, including lock-ins, girls/ guys night outs, parent’s night out, movie nights, R.O.C. the Night, Jr. high game nights, scavenger hunts, camping trips, bowling, ice skating, theme nights, open houses, sweetheart banquet, and much more.
